WHY I WAS IN SAN ANTONIO IN OCT.

Latinos in Architecture

Pláticas Event

I organized and moderating a panel on the westside of San Antonio as co-chair of the AIA San Antonio Latinos in Architecture Committee.  The National American Institute of Architects co-sponsored the event for National Hispanic Heritage Month.

It was a free event.  Food and beverages were provided. Over 80 people showed up from various industries.  20+ students attended.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Fewer than 10% of licensed architects are Hispanic and Latinos/as/x. Join AIA and AIA San Antonio's Latinos in Architecture (LiA) for a panel discussion that will explore how the architecture industry can better support design careers for Hispanic and Latinos/as/x and how to pioneer new paths to equity. Network over hors d'oeuvres, then add your voice to this important conversation in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
