Using collages as a vehicle to relate an empty lot to its surrounding neighborhoods proved helpful in developing a design that addressed its context.  This system also allowed for the establishment of levels of hierarchy within the given program.  The use of grids based on existing conditions grounded the project in acknowledging the past of the site while also providing inspiration for future developments.
